Qwirkle Board Game

The board game Qwirkle is not new this year, in fact it has been around for a couple years, but it is currently one of the best selling games for the 2009 holiday season. So if you don’t already own this game, you may want to give it a look.

Qwirkle was a Mensa Best Mind Game Award winner in 2007. Designed for 2-4 players age 6 years old and up, the average game is around 45 minutes. Game play is similar to the strategy of Scrabble and the visual element of dominoes as you create columns and rows of matching colors and shapes.

Ucreate Music Mixing System by Mattel

The new Ucreate Music Game by Mattel is one of the top new toys in 2009 for kids age 8 year old and up who love music. This is a music mixing device that allows kids and teens to create their own music mix. They can even plug in any MP3 device (such as an iPod or other music player) to mix in any of their own music that they love.

My Pal Violet & My Pal Scout by LeapFrog

Two of the best new toys from Leapfrog in 2009 are My Pal Violet and My Pal Scout. These cute customizable puppies help children age 6 months to 3 years old to learn in fun and interactive ways. Violet and Scout come with 5 pre-loaded songs, or parents can connect to your computer and download and customize additional songs that will sing to your child.

You can program your childs favorite animal, favorite food, favorite color and even program Scout and Violet to say your child’s name.

Overall this is a great toy for babies and toddlers and quickly becoming a very popular and highly rated toy on amazon for the 2009 holiday season.
